Axis Difference

FEATURES AND BENEFITS:

FEATURE:      Customized Curriculum
BENEFIT:        No two people learn exactly the same way, or have exactly the same interests or skills.  By tailoring your lesson plans just for you, we ensure you not only learn the appropriate material, but also have a fun experience every time you pick up your instrument.

FEATURE::      Resource Library
BENEFIT:        There is no single book or material that could address all the possible concepts and approaches you will need.  Our solution is to provide you with a vast library of recorded music, sheet music, lyrics, chord charts, exercises, and other educational tools to help you along your path.

FEATURE:      Certified Instructors
BENEFIT:        Not everyone can be an Axis Music Certified Instructor.  Our teachers are hand-selected from around the world, and must pass a rigorous series of evaluations before joining our prestigious team.  No matter who your teachers are, you know they are highly trained, energetic, positive, patient, and fun.

FEATURE:      Practice Plans
BENEFIT:        Your instructor will create a Practice Log for you, making practicing at home more understandable, efficient, and fun.  By providing clear direction as to how, what, how long, and even where and when to practice most effectively, students stay interested, excited, and passionate about music.  This is a vital element in your improvement.

FEATURE:      Student Input
BENEFIT:        We teach what you need to learn, but also what you want to play.  Forget the cliché of the old lady at the piano and her Ruler of Justice bruising your knuckles.  Forget “my way or the highway.”  We truly care about your success, and really listen to your goals and concerns.  As long as you’re having fun, music will be a source of joy for the rest of your life.

THE POWER OF MUSIC EDUCATION:

High school seniors with music lesson experience average 100 points higher on their SATs than those without arts instruction.

2nd grade students who have taken at least 4 months of piano lessons solve proportional math problems at a 6th grade level.

After learning eighth, quarter, half, and whole notes, 2nd and 3rd graders scored 100% higher than their peers who were taught fractions using traditional methods.

After 6 months of piano lessons, young students performed 34% higher on spatial-temporal testing than those with no training and those with computer training.

Number of years of music instruction has been linked to significantly improved academic achievement as measured across standardized math, science, and language tests.

Eye-hand coordination, balance, and dexterity are improved dramatically in music students of all ages, especially adults over 30.

Practicing music teaches and emphasizes the habit of excellence.

Benefits of playing music include reduced stress, high mental acuity, and longer life expectancy.
