LESSON EXPERIENCE:

Before you take your first lesson, your enrollment director will assess your needs and goals, and team you up with the teacher best suited for your interests, abilities, and personality.  During each lesson, the four essential elements of our method are delivered: Music Theory, Vocabulary & Reading, Hands-On Technique, and Fun Stuff.  The Fun Stuff section is when you can learn your favorite songs, develop your own playing styles, improvise with your instructor, write original music, and whatever else motivates and excites you!

WHAT TO BRING:

Bring your guitar or bass and an extra pick, or your drumsticks, to every lesson.  At your first lesson, we will provide you with your first Axis Music Custom Book, so be sure to keep it with you during lessons and practice times.

WHAT WE PROVIDE:

Each lesson studio is outfitted with all the quality equipment necessary to ensure your learning experience is always smooth and easy.  Everything is set up for your success, from music stands, CD players, and notation paper to keyboards, drum pads, and amplifiers.

PRACTICING:

Your instructor will provide you with clear directions on what and how to practice at home, which is extremely important!  We make practicing music fun by including songs by your favorite artists as well as other inspiring material.  Recommended practice times vary from student to student, but as a simple rule, the more you practice, the better you will become.

PERFORMING:

“No one just wants to take lessons…everyone wants to learn to play!

One of the best ways to improve, build confidence, and stay motivated is to perform music in front of others, or play with others in a group setting, such as a duet or a rock band.  We provide many opportunities for you to show off your developing talent in a safe, encouraging, positive environment.  Student Showcases, Band Competitions, and Individual Contests are just a few of the ways we can get you on stage, whether it’s for the first time or the hundredth.
